It’s been a while! Ben and I have been working really hard on our house and we also welcomed a new family member. It’s also the end of the school year and I’m starting to feel the burn-out. I might be counting the days. The good news is that end-of-the-year projects are always pretty fun to me. I also finally got my books unpacked. It’s nice to have shelves of books again!
No new books because I’m pretty much on a book-buying ban. I’d like to say I’m not going to buy anything else until the end of the summer but I’m not sure I’ll be able to hold out that long. We’re just spending a lot of money on our new house right now so I’m not buying many books. Plus, I got a lot of amazing books at ALA Midwinter so I should just read those. And I work in a library. I have no excuse to buy things, really.
What I Read
Guys! I finished a book! I finally got myself in a decent mindset to finish the audiobook of The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Bahni Turpin was such a great narrator! I honestly have no idea how I’m going to write about that book, but I’ll try.
What I’m Reading
I started Goodbye Days a few weeks ago and I really liked the first couple of chapters. I may restart that this week. I’m also thinking about listening to Trevor Noah’s memoir as my audiobook. Honestly, I’m rewatching Glee because I just need something feel-good that requires zero brain energy so I’m not sure how much reading I’ll get in before I finish that.
On the Blog
I didn’t post anything last week and I still haven’t posted my May release post, but I may just forget about that. I do have some posts I need to write about books I’ve finished. If I can squeeze in the time, I may write those.
What I’m Reading is a mashup post I write to participate in three existing book blog memes. It’s just a little easier for me to write one wrap up each week than to split them into three different posts. I guess I’m being a bit lazy. It’s Monday! What are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date and is a blog meme about reviewing what you’ve read and what you plan to read. It also allows bloggers to visit each other and bond of our love of reading. Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tyga’s Reviews is a blog meme for sharing all the books you’ve added to your shelves, including book mail, new purchases, review copies, and library hauls.
