What I’m Reading [19]

I had a pretty great weekend. School is out for the summer, finally. I spent Saturday doing pretty much nothing. I needed a day of that, but I found myself a little bored by the end of the day. I’m hanging out with my bestie since elementary school today, but I’m planning to keep a good schedule the rest of the summer. I’ll get a good workout schedule going, I’ll be working at the school two days a week on summer projects, and I’ll be working on some house projects to get this place completely livable. This weekend we finally painted the fireplace and I think it looks amazing. I need to do some touchups and we need to get our mantle made, but it I really love the dark color. Check out the progress!

New Books

The Soldier’s Scoundrel by Cat Sebastian
The Lawrence Browne Affair by Cat Sebastian

What I Read

I started and finished The Solider’s Scoundrel which was one of my books for the Read Harder challenge. It’s my LGBTQ romance read. It wasn’t one of my favorites, but it ended up being really sweet.

What I’m Reading

It turns out Cat Sebastian turned this into a series. Like most romance series, you don’t have to read every book. However, the second book is about a minor character in the first book so I wanted to try it out. I love it. It’s so much better than the first one! It’s my new bedtime book.

What’s Next

Since I read and loved The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue but never wrote a post about it, I’ll probably reread before its release date. My audiobook (which will probably be for chores and working out) will be Tranny by Laura Jane Grace. I wanted to throw another book in there and I’ve been looking forward to reading Queer There and Everywhere since I picked up an ARC at ALA Midwinter.

  • Coming Soon: June 2017

That’s all I’ve planned this week. We’ll see if I work on anything else. I have a quick picks post that’s half finished I can work on this week, too. Happy reading!

What I’m Reading is a post I put together that’s all about motivating me to keep reading and updating my blog. I love doing both, but I sometimes let life get in the way. I just needed a little weekly reminder to do things for myself, like reading and blogging. It’s inspired by It’s Monday! What are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date and Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tyga’s Reviews so I sometimes link up on those posts to start conversation with other bloggers.
